Here at SecurityCameraSystems.com our security experts have put together pre-packaged IP surveillance systems of 4, 8, and 16 cameras. Easy to install and use out of the box, there are three basic components of these IP camera systems.
The Camera
The surveillance camera is the heart of the system—it monitors everything and keeps you safe. The many models available allow systems to be customized for unique surveillance needs like harsh weather and minimal light at night. Durable, compact, and easy to install, IP cameras are a great choice for many homes and businesses looking to improve security.
NVR and hard drive
The NVR and hard drive keep the system running. While a camera may offer limited video storage through an SD card, long term storage requires a large hard drive and file management system. Keeping the NVR in a separate location from the cameras also ensures video footage is still available in the event of a camera being stolen or damaged.
Cables and POE switch
IP cameras offer an advantage over older CCTV cameras because they can connect to the internet to instantly stream video. But even though they can connect wirelessly to your internet, the cameras still need power to keep running. A POE (power over Ethernet) switch allows one Ethernet cable to supply both the internet connection and power supply for minimal installation.
